I finally got round to putting up pics of my SBA trip to India at the weekend with Richie B and the Virgin family, so here they are! Airport fashion has always made me and my sister laugh, from the women in 6inch stilettos as if they're not also standing in endless queues to the people rocking up in pyjamas with no shame. Ok that may have just been us in the pyjamas, but as this time my itinerary had specified the attendance of a 'media crew', I thought pyjamas may be less appropriate. So I threw on these Zara boots which are low enough to wear for hours on end but sparkly enough to give the illusion I'm not just in my pyjamas. This Zara jacket is also great for travelling because it has a removable furry lining and hood which is perfect for switching from cold-hot climates. Land, remove furry bits, and you're good to go! Works great for indecisive British weather too- so a real wardrobe keeper if there ever was one.
Loose fitting tops are another handy smart casual cop out. This one I got while on holiday in Goa from a little Indian designer boutique I found courtesy of one the best travel guides I've ever bought- the Love India series from Fiona Caulfield. An essential Indian travel buddy if you also would like to eat, shop and drink your way across India. The leather necklace I bought at a jewellery exhibition from the Sanitas cafe in Gaborone, Botswana- my go to Sunday brunch in the city because you can get handmade gelato for breakfast!
A warm (and loud!) welcome at the Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi. The Taj has such a lovely old glamour about it, and I love the fact that Mr Tata, of the now TATA empire, set up the Taj Hotels after being refused entry to hotel in Mumbai because he was Indian, so he built his own instead.
