After our recent post on modern Ethiopian wear- it reminded me about this dress I had made by an Ethiopian tailor in Addis Ababa on my last visit. There is a huge traditional clothes market in Shiro Meda where all the locals go, and my dress was inspired by the traditional long maxi style dresses that Ethiopian women wear. The flower design at the bottom of the dress is instead of the cross that Christian Ethiopians usually have.
I love this dress because the hand woven cotton means it’s just cool enough for those hot Addis days, but can be accessoried with tights and boots for this indecisive London weather too!
